RETREATS

“The invitation of freedom, of self-realization is actually inviting you to take a permanent retreat from the story of mind. A retreat is not an escape instead it is an offering, a space to step away and meet yourself.”

Our vision of retreats:
… a truly special time given to immerse oneself in the stillness of the heart. Retreats are a sacred space completely away from daily life – house, job, and family. Usually on a site surrounded by nature, all aspects of retreat life are inviting you to fall deeper in peace and welcoming you home. All retreats will be held in verbal silence giving everyone the inner-space to explore the mental static, emotional up-heaves, and physical attachments that seem to impede the simplicity of one’s true being. There will be morning meditations, and several daily satsangs with Brian Qara (there is speaking in meetings only). As the depth of support and silence intensifies, the Satsang meetings are a penetrating investigation into truth where people are given the opportunity to share their daily realizations, release stories of suffering and discover without question that who they are is always free. Some other daily optional events may include: yoga, chanting, music and dancing ending with a silent candle vigil. There will always be plenty of time throughout the day to spend in the serenity of nature. Healthy and tasty meals will be supplied daily.

The first retreats will be with a limited number of people to allow more personal attention and to keep logistics simple.

If you are interested in attending a retreat with Brian Qara, you may put your name on a sign-up list by emailing us at events@theopenflame.org or by calling 310-207-8382. If you are on this list you will be among the first to receive information and be offered registration on our first retreat dates and locations.
